Lots of digging going on this week.
Lots of big trucks going back and forth...

and now this is what the area in between
the Junior High and Elementary buildings looks like.

A big truck gets filled with water from the fire hydrant and then sprays the water all over the dirt. (I'll try to post a picture of that...it looks pretty cool)

The guy filling the truck (on the left by the fire hydrant) said the water helps make the dirt the right texture.

Suprisingly, he said there's been a lot of moisture in the dirt and they haven't had to add as much as you'd think. Who knows where the moisture came from!

Behind the football field is now a parking lot for large trucks and the dump site for large pieces of cement. I can't wait to see what they use these metal rods for!

On Monday, some new "boxes" sprouted up behind the Elementary school....

By Thursday, they were digging large holes in the ground for gas and electricity, and ???

These guys looked like they knew what they were doing. The electricity was turned off in the Elementary school for a while and they were working over time (past 5:00 pm anyway) to get it turned back on.

(Note the big hole)

The view behind the Elementary school is a little bit different these days...

and they're leaving secret codes on the sidewalk!

what do you think THAT means?

As of today (Sunday, March 1st) this is what the lot looks like behind the "old" Junior High...getting ready for the "new" Junior High.

The occupants of the Junior High building could feel it when the concrete was being torn up!

Now there are fences all around the construction site....and getting to the Art/Band building is "interesting".

The view to the west has changed dramatically over the past week.
A lot of digging has gone on....big tractors moving a lot of dirt (and cement!) This is the before picture....

and this is after a few days of work....

To make way for the new building, this tree had to go.

It's root system was HUGE!

Construction has begun on the new Junior High! So far the changes aren't that noticeable. The biggest change so far is no more weight room!

The Jr. High parking lot was not available last week while the construction crew dug it up to put in pipes or electrical lines or something.
